Sensible thing to check before building. Your strategies and your recorded data are files on your own machine — they don't disappear, and they aren't held hostage. What a lapsed license affects is the ability to run live trading and the server-side features. Reactivating restores access to those without you needing to rebuild anything. If you ever want a copy of your work outside the app, everything lives under your data folder and can be backed up like any other files.
Fair enough, but how would we actually verify that ourselves? I'd want to know where the files physically live on disk and whether they're readable outside the app. If I can open my strategy definitions and logs with a text editor, that's proof. Has anyone poked around the folder structure?
Been through a lapse once during a break, picked it back up later and everything was still there. Just don't assume anything is babysitting your orders while it's off.
Dumb question maybe — does the recorded history keep filling up while the license is lapsed, or does the data collection stop too? Trying to figure out if I'd have a gap in my training data if I ever paused for a bit.
