Mobile alerts are the feature I'd miss most

Not praise for its own sake, a note about which part of the workflow actually changed my behavior. Before, I watched. Now I don't, because I trust that the three things I care about will reach me. That shift is the difference between running something overnight and sitting up with it. The thing that makes it work is that it's boring: it tells me what happened and stops. If it ever became chatty I'd turn it off, and then I'd be back to watching.

"If it ever became chatty I'd turn it off" is worth reading as a design constraint.

Same. The value is entirely in the restraint.

Noted, and it's the constraint we try to hold ourselves to internally. One limit worth stating plainly: push delivery depends on your OS and network, so it can be delayed or dropped, and we can't guarantee it. Please don't let alerts be the only thing standing between you and a position you can't afford to leave alone.

alerts only work if you keep the list short. three things, like you said. i've seen people set fifteen and then mute the whole app within a week. same as watching, just worse.

What's your third one? I've got two obvious ones and the slot for the third keeps changing.

Three max, agreed! I learned that the hard way. Had one for every ticker I touched and my brain just started swiping them away without reading. Now if it buzzes I actually look up.

I once had alerts on and slept through them anyway because my phone was face down on do-not-disturb. Woke up to a situation I'd have caught if I'd just set the exit ahead of time instead of trusting the buzz. Not the app's fault, entirely mine, but it cured me of treating a notification as a plan.

- agree on boring - mine are set the night before, not reactively - alert tells me to check, never tells me what to do - exit levels live in the order, not in my phone
