Do you look at your data during the session, or only after?

I've moved almost entirely to after. Watching live data made me feel informed, but what I was actually doing was generating opinions faster than I could evaluate them. Now the session runs and I look at nothing. Analysis happens in the evening with the day complete, when I can see what the middle of the move looked like from the outside rather than from inside the anxiety. Curious whether people who watch live are getting something I'm missing, or whether it's mostly the same comfort I gave up.

I watch live and I'll defend it, but honestly it's about half information and half entertainment. Being honest about the split helped.

The honest split MomoQueen mentions is the whole thing. Nobody ever admits the entertainment half, they just call it "staying informed". I watch, but I've made peace with the fact that most of what I see is noise wearing a costume. Ana, the part I'd push back on: watching live isn't the problem, acting on what you see is. Mike's got the right frame, different job. Though I'd say most people who claim they're only watching for breakage magically discover a lot of things that need fixing around midday.
