A note on what beta means

Everything here is free and unlocked right now, and I've watched enough of these to know what usually happens next: the free period ends and the community that formed during it discovers what it was actually buying. I don't say that as an accusation. I say it because the honest version, stated early, is worth more than a pleasant surprise later. People here are making decisions about where to put their time, and time invested in learning a tool is a real cost even when the tool is free. Whatever the plan is, saying it plainly ahead of time will cost less than saying it well afterwards.

Fair, and we'd rather answer it than let it sit. The plan is a free tier that stays genuinely usable — paper trading, local backtesting, the community. With paid tiers for the parts that cost us per use, like server-side runs and live trading. Anyone who joins during beta keeps founding-member status. If any of that changes we'd rather announce it early and take the criticism than have people find out at renewal.

That's a straight answer and it's what I wanted to know before investing more time.

- server-side runs behind a paywall makes sense, that's real cost - would like the free tier limits written down somewhere, not just in a thread - also: reply got cut off, keeps what?

yeah your message got truncated lol, beta joiners keep... what exactly? asking because I run stuff overnight and if scheduled runs are the paid part I'd rather budget for it now than find out later. either way, clear answer beats silence.

Third person asking now, so: keeps what? A grandfathered price, a tier, credits? Worth editing the original post once you answer, threads get buried.

Sensible ask from Pete — put the limits on a page with a date on it, not in a reply. And for anyone reading: if a scheduled run going paid would break your process, that's a dependency you should be writing down in your checklist now, not discovering at renewal.

I once built my whole routine around a free charting tool that got gutted overnight. Lost a week rebuilding and traded badly through it because I was annoyed. So yeah, I appreciate the question being asked this early.
