Daily data is enough for more strategies than people admit

There's a quiet assumption here that finer data is always better. For a lot of approaches it just adds noise and decisions. I run on daily bars. Everything I need — trend, range, relative position. Is visible there, and the finer data mostly gave me more chances to second-guess an entry I'd already justified. Not arguing against tick data. Arguing that resolution should match the timeframe of your reasoning, and mismatching them upward costs attention without adding information.

"More chances to second-guess" is a real cost and nobody puts it in the trade-off.

Agreed for your timeframe. The moment you're inside the day, path matters and daily bars stop being enough.

close is just whatever hour the exchange picked, and it lands mid-nap for me anyway. i still mostly look at dailies but i had to stop treating that close like it means something.
