The infrastructure posts are the ones worth reading twice

This board has filled up with useful material lately, and I want to point at a pattern in it. The strategy threads argue about edges. The infrastructure threads — reconciliation, silence handling, rejection taxonomy, which channel failed, argue about survival. In my experience the second category has cost people more money than the first, and gets a fraction of the attention because it isn't interesting. Nobody has ever been excited about writing reconciliation logic. It's the trading equivalent of checking that the parachute is packed. But every one of the operational failures described on this page ends with a position the trader didn't intend and couldn't see, and that is a category of loss with no upper bound, unlike a bad trade. If you're new here and deciding where to spend a weekend: not on the entry conditions. On the part that decides what happens when something goes wrong.

"A category of loss with no upper bound" is exactly the distinction. A bad trade is bounded by your stop; an unknown position is bounded by nothing.
