Alert me when data goes stale, not just when it disconnects

Disconnection is loud. The dangerous state is quieter: connected, but nothing arriving. What I'd like is a configurable staleness alert — if no update has arrived for N seconds during hours I've marked as active, tell me. For a liquid symbol during active hours, silence is information. This came out of the status-indicator bug thread, but I think it belongs as a real feature rather than just a fix to the light. The indicator tells me when I look. An alert tells me when I'm asleep.

"the indicator tells me when i look, an alert tells me when i'm asleep" — that's the whole argument.

Agreed these are two different needs and the fix to the indicator doesn't cover the second one. Noting it separately.

Yes! Silence during active hours is a signal, not a null! Would want the N to be per-symbol though, my momo names tick constantly but I hold a couple slow ones that would spam me all day.

Sensible ask. I'd add it to the pre-market checklist as a thing you confirm is armed, same as you'd confirm your stops, an alert you never tested is just a feeling. And if it fires, the response should be pre-decided, not improvised at 3am.

@MomoQueen yeah per-symbol thresholds is the right shape, one global number would either be useless or annoying. And Rita, agreed on testing, I'd want a way to deliberately trigger it once so I know the notification actually reaches my phone in silent mode.

Dumb question maybe. How would it tell the difference between the feed being broken and a symbol just genuinely not trading for a bit? Or is that the point of only enabling it on liquid stuff during hours you picked?
