night trader here, so does the local vs cloud thing even apply to me?

so i read that guide about where to actually run your bot — pc vs vps vs cloud, and i liked that it just came out and said "look we're not neutral here, our thing runs on your machine". respect for that, most writeups pretend they don't have a horse in the race. but it left me a bit stuck on my own situation and i wanted to ask you lot. the main argument for cloud is basically "your computer can be off". fine. except i'm awake anyway. i trade crypto between roughly midnight and 6am my time, that's when i'm at the desk with tea, and the machine is on and i'm watching it. so the whole "windows restarts at 3am" scenario is... me being there and swearing at it, but still, i see it happen. what i can't decide is the other 18 hours. crypto doesn't stop. if my strategy is only supposed to be doing anything during my window, then a sleeping pc is not a bug, it's basically a hard stop on the strategy, right? or is that me kidding myself and the real risk is the position i'm already holding when the laptop goes to sleep and nothing is minding it. the guide talks about the cloud being better for exactly that and then says their approach costs you something real, which i appreciated but i wanted more on what that cost actually feels like day to day. so: anyone here run local *on purpose* rather than because they haven't got round to a vps? and how do you handle the gap where you're asleep and something is still open? do you just flatten everything before bed? that feels clean but it also feels like i'm throwing away half the reason to automate in the first place. also mildly embarrassed to admit i've never actually checked how long my internet drops for in a normal week. the guide made me realise i'm assuming it's fine because i've never noticed. going to log it.
