wake-and-trade pc setup — what happens when it doesnt wake?

read the guide on getting a desktop to wake itself, trade the session and shut down. good writeup. did most of it saturday. my question is the failure side. guide covers the happy path well. wake timer fires, autologin, scripts run, flat by close, machine sleeps. but what about when it doesnt. power blip overnight. bios comes back in the wrong state. windows decides to install updates at 3am and sits on a reboot screen. i have had all three happen on that box over the years, back when i only used it for charts and it didnt matter. now it would matter. worst case is the machine wakes, launches, opens a position, then something hangs and nothing closes it. that is the scenario i cant stop thinking about. i was a scalper for years, i am used to being the one who flattens. handing that to a pc in my spare room with nobody watching is a different feeling. so: - anyone running a heartbeat? something that pings your phone if the session didnt start on time - do you rely on the strategy's own close-at-eod, or a separate hard kill that runs regardless - broker side flatten if connection drops, does that exist or am i dreaming guide says the broker decides how far you can push the automation. fine. but the broker doesnt decide whether my house has power. that part is on me and i want to hear what people actually do. also on the ib note in there. logging in once a week instead of once a day is better but its still a manual step. anyone had that session drop mid week and only find out after?
